Study for Aphrodite

A large scale quadriptych depicting an underwater environment, in which various life-forms and objects coalesce and disperse in a kind of murky mélange. This open-ended mythscape is charged by an ever changing vitalism or force, at once generative and destructive, its  “overall” composition intended to evoke a sense of the overwhelming. This mythscape could be read as a celebration of the chaotic lifecycle, or alternatively as kind of warning; a projected future set within a toxic ocean awash with mutant forms.
